Every year, Pantone polls designers and brands about the colors they are featuring to aid its decision in declaring what exact color will be changing the landscape for the next 12 months. What color did they choose for 2013? Emerald Green, which identifies as 17-5641 in Pantone’s color swatch. Like our friends at HauteTalk noted, it’s not a big surprise, but we’re pleased nonetheless. According to Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute:
Green is the most abundant hue in nature – the human eye sees more green than any other color in the spectrum. As it has throughout history, multifaceted Emerald continues to sparkle and fascinate. Symbolically, Emerald brings a sense of clarity, renewal and rejuvenation, which is so important in today’s complex world. This powerful and universally appealing tone translates easily to both fashion and home interiors.
We love this hue for its flexible quality. It can create both a luxurious and casual feel, and applies seamlessly into modern or classic design. We scoured the web for rooms that featured the trendy color, and we were not disappointed. Here are 14 of our favorite Emerald Green rooms.
